Terranostra en línea focuses on the development of an online store to complement the physical supermarket and expand access to Terranostra’s products. Given that the cooperative counts on a single location on the island, physical access can be a limitation for many potential users. The online store aims to overcome this barrier by providing a convenient digital channel for ordering local and organic food, while also strengthening customer engagement and increasing sales.
The implementation follows a phased approach, starting with packaged products and gradually integrating fresh produce and eventually bulk items. This requires adapting existing management software, developing new logistics for order preparation and pick-up, and establishing a dedicated working group within the cooperative.
Communication strategies will play a key role in promoting the service, particularly among members who are less able to visit the store regularly. While the innovation creates new opportunities for growth and accessibility, it also introduces challenges such as maintaining up-to-date inventory, organising efficient logistics, and preserving the cooperative’s strong sense of community in an online environment.
If successfully implemented, the online store will enhance the resilience and reach of Terranostra, making sustainable and locally produced food more widely accessible across Mallorca.
