First Community of Practice Webinar Launches InnOFoodLabs Knowledge Exchange

Presentations from the webinar are now available

The InnOFoodLabs project has officially launched its Community of Practice (CoP) webinar series with its first international webinar held on 16 April 2026. This event marked an important milestone in strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange around local and organic food systems across Europe.

Introducing the Community of Practice

The webinar served as an introduction to the InnOFoodLabs Community of Practice, explaining its purpose, structure and planned activities. The CoP is designed to complement the project’s Living Labs by creating a European space for cross-border learning and dialogue among farmers, processors, researchers, advisers, policymakers and other food system actors. Its overall aim is to support innovation, cooperation and resilience in organic value chains.

Focus on organic market insights

The thematic focus of the first webinar was organic market developments, with comparative insights from Germany and Spain. Speakers highlighted key trends, challenges and opportunities in these markets, paying particular attention to the role of collaboration along the value chain in supporting small-scale actors and fostering sustainable local food systems.

The session combined expert presentations with open discussion, giving participants the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences and engage directly with the speakers and the wider Community of Practice.

Presentations now published

To ensure continued access to the knowledge shared, the presentations used during the webinar are now available online and can be consulted by all interested stakeholders. In addition, the CoP members can view a video recording of the webinar, allowing those who could not attend live to follow the discussions and key messages.

Looking ahead

This first webinar is part of a wider series of international Community of Practice events planned during the InnOFoodLabs project. Upcoming webinars will continue to explore key topics such as the role of processing in local organic food systems and ways to better connect farmers, communities and markets across Europe.
