More local organic products in HORECA

Living Lab:Vila Natura

“Who Grew My Food?” initiative connects local fields directly to public kitchens, schools, and the hospitality sector (HORECA). This innovation shifts the focus away from simply selling raw ingredients, prioritizing short, transparent supply chains built on education and seamless collaboration.

Innovation addresses institutional and market challenges through three main pillars:

  • Inspiring the Next Generation: Through school cooking classes, traditional Slovenian breakfasts, and farm visits, children, parents, and teachers learn about organic food, healthy eating, and the importance of knowing where food comes from.
  • Chef-Led Training: The family coordinates practical workshops featuring popular guest chefs to teach professional cooks how to efficiently prepare and utilize raw organic ingredients.
  • Bridging the Digital Gap: A new B2B online platform simplifies logistics by giving professional buyers instant access to product availability and streamlined ordering tools.

Through this blended approach of education, professional support, and digital tools, Vila Natura aims to increase the use of locally produced organic food in public kitchens and strengthen cooperation between farmers, schools, and the hospitality sector.
